Staircase Ventures Closes $50 million Fund II

March 9, 2026

We are delighted to announce that Staircase Ventures has closed a $50 million Fund II.  The Fund was oversubscribed and exceeded its initial target of $40 million, reinforcing the power of our unique approach, the strength of the teams we back, and the trusted relationships we have with our Limited Partners.

When we launched Staircase Ventures three years ago, we pioneered a new approach: a five-pillar Founder Development Platform that includes executive coaching, health & wellness support, personal financial advice, and parenting assistance; shared carry – or upside – in the Fund for all founders; and an outstanding group of Advisors who have launched and built $1B+ businesses.  In addition, we invest in a small number of companies to give significant, hands-on support throughout the early years of company building.

This approach resonates with founders, and we have been privileged to be able to invest in some of the best early-stage Canadian tech companies over the past three years.  It is an honour and joy to work closely with them to scale their businesses.

Fund II welcomes back over 80% of Fund I investors.  In addition, several new LPs have joined the Staircase Ventures community, including BDC, University of Alberta, and InBC.  We are delighted to be working with investors who are aligned with our approach and supportive of our founders.

In addition, Staircase Ventures recently welcomed Andrew Tiffin to the team as an Operating Partner.  Andrew brings expertise in go-to-market, strategy and operations from working in early-stage start-ups and scaled tech companies.  He is actively working with our portfolio companies to help them accelerate growth and lay the foundation for long term success.

We are excited for the future and look forward to meeting the founders we will be backing over the next three years!
