Andrew Tiffin

Operating Partner

Andrew is an experienced operator and has worked with start-ups and large technology firms across Canada and the United States for the past 10+ years. He previously was the Chief of Staff to the CRO at Shopify and led Product Operations for the Merchant Services group, representing ~70% of Shopify’s revenue.

Andrew is the Staircase Ventures Operating Partner and joined the team after spending the last four years at Shopify, where he was the Chief of Staff to the CRO and led the Merchant Services Product Operations team across its Payments, Financial Services, Ads, Retail, Shop and B2B businesses. He previously launched Clutch in Toronto and was the General Manager of RenoRun in Ontario. He helped to scale Uber Eats across North American and launched the Uber Payfare Instant Pay card in Canada, reaching 30% penetration among Canadian drivers within one year of the launch.

Andrew started his career in strategy consulting at the Monitor Group and spent time on the iPhone Launch Operations team in Cupertino, California. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

Andrew lives with his wife and two young children in Toronto and loves to play hockey, hike and stay active in his free time.
