Mike co-founded Mozilla and led Engineering & Product at Firefox. He also led mobile engineering at Facebook and co-authored the world’s first JavaScript JIT compiler.

Mike co-founded Mozilla and later headed Engineering and Product for Firefox. Mike also co-authored the world’s first JavaScript JIT compiler. Recently, Mike was a Distinguished Engineer at Shopify, working with the executive team on technical, organizational, and operational excellence. He is currently VP Engineering at Fastly.

Mike led the Engineering team during Facebook’s pivot to mobile, taking the Facebook Mobile Apps business from 40 to 1k engineers and from $0 to over $1B revenue. He subsequently oversaw the development of the core systems software for Oculus Rift. Mike later worked in venture capital and was CTO at an AI start-up.

Mike is a fierce advocate for workplace diversity and mental health. He lives in Toronto with his wife and two teenage daughters.
