Robbie has been working with tech start-ups in the Canadian ecosystem for the past 4 years, first as an MBA Student at the Creative Destruction Lab in Toronto and then as a lawyer in Fasken’s Emerging Tech & Venture Capital practice.
Prior to joining Staircase Ventures, Robbie was an Associate Lawyer at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, in the emerging technology and venture capital group. In that role, he advised start up and growth stage companies on venture capital financings and M&A transactions, and supported Toronto’s technology ecosystem through partnerships with various accelerator programs.
Robbie holds a dual JD/MBA from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law and Rotman School of Management as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University. At Rotman, Robbie participated as an MBA student in the Creative Destruction Lab, where he evaluated applicant ventures and worked with a legal-tech start-up throughout their journey in the program. Robbie’s experience in CDL sparked his passion for supporting founders and developing early-stage companies.
Robbie loves to play hockey, tennis, and golf, is an avid runner, and enjoys spending time with his golden retriever, Ollie.
